Nesta Sybil Liston 1890 - 1970

A devoted benefactress of Marlow who gave Liston Hall and her home (New Court) to the town.

1890 Nesta Sybil Forrest was born on 16th July in St Fagans, Glamorganshire, Wales to Robert and Lucy Forrest.​

​

1920 Nesta Sybil Wain, by now a widow, married William Duncan Forbes Liston in Colombo, Western Sri Lanka on the 20th December and is recorded as being the daughter of Mrs R Forrest of New Court, Marlow.​

​

1936 She was Chairman of Marlow Urban District Council.

1939 Kellys Directory for Buckinghamshire lists under new Councillors - Nesta Sybil Liston JP, New Court, Marlow​.

​

1963 Nesta Sybil Liston JP was awarded an MBE for political and public services in Buckinghamshire​.

​

1970 Nesta Sybil Liston died aged 80 years.
